Review: As the name describes, Global is an online retailer of a wide
variety of sports-related products ranging from golf equipment
to fishing to Tae Bo videos. Their affiliate program has been
set up to pay commissions of up to 30% of profits on sales you
refer.
Payout: The
commission is not 30% of SALES, as most affiliate commissions are
determined, but on Global’s NET PROFITS on the sale. This
means that the commission you earn on each sale will be highly
dependent on what items are purchased, and what their
individual profit margins are for Global.
Sales are
tracked through a unique affiliate URL. Commission reports are
mailed with checks on a monthly basis, detailing the traffic
you referred, how many purchases were made, your conversion
rate, and commissions earned. Checks are issued once
commissions have reached $100.
When you
become an affiliate, Global will also add your site to their
directory of sports related web sites. Unfortunately, the
ambiguity of commissions on profits, rather than just flat
sales, prevent this program from receiving a higher rating.

This is a unique program that is suited to sites that
specialize in golf and golf supplies. Online Golf Solutions
offers the special services of designing and hosting web sites
for local golf courses that want to be online. Note that they
only design for golf courses.
Payout:
They
offer an affiliate program which offers to pay an excellent
20% commission on any sales of services you refer. Sales are
tracked by the affiliates name, which must be mentioned by the
customer for you to receive a commission. However, since their
minimum fee for designing a web site for a golf course is
$400, your minimum commission is $80. Other services may
result in commissions of $40 to $72, including commissions on
their hosting fees.
Checks
are issued once they have received payment. Commission
tracking is not available. Given the limitation that customers
must mention your name, this program will probably be best
promoted to close associates, or offline by word of mouth.

Review:
This affiliate program will appeal to sites targeted
towards the outdoors, sporting, and obviously fishing.
Payout:
The
iGoFish program pays generous 10-15% commission on all sales
of fishing gear from referrals from your site. Commissions are
at least 10%, but climb to 12% if you make over $150 in sales
in a month, and to 15% if you make over $400. Very reasonable
compared to some other programs that require sales in the
thousands (or tens of thousands!) to reach higher commission
levels.
Sales
are tracked by a unique partner URL their program captures and
online real-time stats are made available. Commission checks
are issued quarterly once commissions have reached a very low
$5. A variety of link options and graphics are made available
for use by all affiliates. |
