Review: Totally Fun Toys claim to sell "Toys that stimulate creativity, learning, and healthy play." Their web site is well-designed, with easy to understand navigation and ordering, and a wide variety of name-brand toys for all ages.

Payout: Their affiliate program has been set up to pay 12% commissions on all sales you refer to their web site. After referring a customer to their site, you will also be eligible for follow-up commissions for a 45 day period. This means that if the visitor you refer returns to Totally Fun Toys within 45 days of their first visit, and makes a purchase (or additional purchases), you will be credited with the same 12% commission, even if they did not return to your site to follow your link.

The Totally Fun Toys revenue share program is administered by ConnectCommerce, a third-party affiliate management provider that shows a lot of promise. One of the benefits of working with ConnectCommerce is that you deal directly with them regarding any questions or concerns you have about the program. This should help alleviate the common problem many affiliates have with trying to find the right person to contact at an affiliate merchant if difficulty arises.

Online commission reports are available, detailing, in real-time, product sales you referred and the commissions you have earned. Checks are issued monthly by ConnectCommerce, once $50 in commissions have been reached.

eToys has grown to be one of the largest and most respected online merchants today. They offer a professional site, with a wide selection of frequently updated toys and games.

Unfortunately, eToys recently changed their affiliate program, decreasing the affiliate commission maximum from 25% to 12.5%. To make up for this, eToys does now pay a bounty of $5 for each new customer you refer, but it is only paid if they have never purchased with eToys previously. What this means for the affiliate is if they referred very small orders, the new commission structure may be an improvement thanks to the $5 bounty payment, but for sites that referred larger orders, or who had many repeat visitors, the new commission structure will almost surely mean decreased income.

Sales are tracked through a unique partner code that is included with the linking URL. You will receive credit for all sales that originate from these links. A variety of linking options can be used including links to the home page, to specific products, and to a search form. Images from the eToys web site can also be used to promote the program on your site. Commission tracking reports are sent by email on a monthly basis and highlight the number of click-throughs, sales, revenues and commissions generated for that period. Checks are issued quarterly.
